What is Microtox? The beauty treatment women are choosing over Botox

Kat O'Connor

Microtox is the new Botox

I’m getting closer to my 30th birthday and suddenly feel the pressure to get Botox. The treatment has never been on my radar until now, but I suddenly feel like I should at least look into it.

Why? Maybe it’s the pressure to look young or societal standards weighing me down, but there’s also no shame in getting Botox.

In my eyes, it’s just another beauty treatment, like getting your brows done or BIAB nails.

However, there’s a treatment rising in popularity at the moment and it has caught my attention.

Microtox is knocking Botox off its beauty pedestal and I’m not surprised.

The treatment is non-invasive and more and more people are turning to it rather than Botox.

But what exactly is Microtox?

The treatment promises to rejuvenate and tighten the skin on your face by lifting and firming your skin.

It also decreases pore size, reducing skin laxity, as well as skin redness.

Like Botox, the treatment will lessen the appearance of wrinkles, creases, fine lines, and crows feet.

The product is injected just beneath the surface of your skin rather than into the muscle.

Experts have compared the treatment to microneedling but stressed that it does not give a ‘frozen’ expression.

Your skin will reportedly look natural after the treatment, but it also slims your face including your jawline.

The ideal candidate is someone who wants to make ‘micro’ corrections to their face and neck.

Nobody should ever feel pressured to undergo cosmetic work, but there’s also no shame in it if it’s something that interests you.

Microtox is something that could be a happy middle ground for those of us who are considering Botox.

Have you tried it before?
