If there’s one thing we love here at Her, it’s a gorgeous hair trend.

The majority of hair trends nowadays are inspired by food and drink. This is partly thanks to Hailey Bieber and partly thanks to TikTok.

Naming new trends after cute and delicious flavours just adds to their popularity, even if they don’t always make sense.

Case in point, Zara McDermott unveiled her fresh locks in a ‘Vanilla Butter’ shade for the winter season, and, even though vanilla butter isn’t exactly a cabinet staple, the name makes it all the more alluring.

TikTok has served us a bounty of cuisine-and-drink-inspired hair and make-up trends, and each time one emerges, I think to myself, ‘This is the nicest one yet.’

With the latest ‘Vanilla Butter’, I find myself thinking the same.

In 2022, this blonde shade had a moment of popularity, but now that the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star has revealed her fresh ‘Vanilla Butter’ tresses, we anticipate it’s about to become a firm A/W hair colour.

While ‘Love Island’ alum Zara may be bringing recognition to the beautifully bright and blonde hair trend, it’s a trend that one TikTok user in particular has been pushing for some time.

Hair professional @hair_by_chrissy has long been advocating for ‘Vanilla Almond Butter’ locks and with one quick scroll, it’s very easy to see why.

This blonde is more akin to the colour you would find icing the top of a cupcake, giving a more creamy and buttery-looking blonde finish.

From latte nails to dark cherry red nails, strawberry makeup to espresso makeup, cinnamon cookie butter hair to vanilla butter hair, we’re not even scratching the surface of these almost-edible beauty movements of 2023.
