Just another drink-inspired trend.
The gorgeous Latte Makeup trend - thanks to Hailey Bieber - saw us right through autumn.
Now that nights are getting a little darker and colder as we near the winter, inevitably a new makeup trend to match has arrived.
It's time to swap out your warm, soft caramel and gold hues for moodier, darker chocolate and coffee bean tones because the Espresso Makeup trend is in full swing.
We have Mrs. Bieber to thank once again for inspiring yet another makeup trend that seems to cover every item on a Starbucks menu.
I have to say, the timing of her Rhode Peptide Lip Tints release is one of genius as one of the shades, Espresso, an indulgent and luxurious dark brown, has featured heavily in creating Espresso Makeup looks.
On TikTok, #EspressoMakeup has more than 55 million hits, with Bieber's lip tint being used by many to create the look.
Of course, we imagine the other three shades (Toast, Ribbon, and Raspberry Jelly) will make their way into makeup trends this winter and spring.
Espresso Makeup has been dubbed the 'grunge sister' of the Latte Makeup trend by Danielle Marcan, and it involves a much darker, smokier, and edgier eye compared to its predecessor, as well as a noticeable, yet subtle, dark lip.
"The focus is all on the eyes, but we want the skin to be even. A lot of bronzing and contouring as well," Marcan says.
"I'm just going over half of my lid and then just blend it. Same for the lower lid. Then take a cocoa shade eye shadow and then set this and bring it up to your brow. Then you're gonna need a black pencil.
"Create a flick at the end of your eye and just contour your eye. Add it to your waterline too. And then we're gonna smudge it," she demonstrates.
The content creator then advises using a 'lot' of mascara to complete the Espresso eyes, before finishing with her lip.
"For your lips, I want the brown shade so I'm using my brow pencil and nude lipstick. And this is it, the espresso makeup."
