Someone in Ireland is having the perfect start to 2019 after winning €1 million in the Millionaire Raffle.
Lotto players are being encouraged to check their tickets, after thousands of prizes were scooped up in the highly anticipated draw.
The person with the ticket number 191401 won €1,000,000, while the €250,000 prize went to the person with ticket number 417104.
There were three people who won €100,000 – 052944, 164096, 238272 – and another 10 who won €10,000: 051673, 106569, 143283, 199359, 243133, 283166, 303350, 338428, 365376, 386933.
The €1,000,000 ticket was sold at Kavanagh’s Village Forecourt, in Clonroche, Co Wexford. It’s the second time that the shop struck it rich, after selling a €2.7 million winning Lotto ticket in 2010.
Rita Greene, co-owner of the shop, said:
“We can’t believe this! What a great way to start of 2019 for one of our customers.
We were just told the good news this morning and we really hope it’s a local. News is beginning to spread now!
“We are a very busy shop between New Ross and Enniscorthy so the winner could be a passerby.
“But it’s a dream start to the year for one of our lucky customers and I know it will bring a lot of excitement to the town as we extend our New Year’s celebrations. “
“This is bringing back memories of the excitement when we sold the winning Lotto jackpot ticket back in November 2010 during the big snow. We are delighted that another of our customers is to become a millionaire!”
