Heavy showers and thunder forecast for the coming days

Kat O'Connor

The forecast is not looking good

We’re hoping and wishing the forecast would improve as we get closer to summer but it looks like even more bad weather is on the way.

There will be outbreaks of rain and drizzle today with maximum temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees.

Met Éireann confirmed there will be well-scattered showers this evening with a drop in temperatures.

Showers will become heavy later tonight with the chance of spot flooding.

Met Éireann confirmed, “Lowest temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees, coolest in the northwest, in mostly light variable breezes, but becoming breezy in southeastern and eastern coastal parts in a strengthening southeast wind.”

There is also a likelihood of thunder and lightning this week.

On Tuesday, there will be heavy showers with the likelihood of thunderstorms and the possibility of hail.

Met Éireann, “Further rain for a time tomorrow morning, generally clearing northwestwards through the morning with bright or sunny spells and showers following for the rest of the day.”

Luckily, the weather is set to improve later in the week.

Met Éireann confirmed there will be sunshine and good dry spells on Friday.

“Friday is likely to bring some sunshine and good dry spells, but with the chance of heavy showers or even a longer spell of rain in places. Getting milder with highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in light to moderate northwest breezes.”

We’re very ready for the weather to improve and to abandon our rain coats. Can summer please hurry up?
