Since 2012, HER has been Ireland’s female-focussed online hub, delivering the latest in trends, entertainment, fashion, beauty and switched-on social commentary. Sister brand HERFamily is a lifestyle site for Irish parents, offering supportive, non-judgemental insights, ideas for family fun and travel, as well as news and entertainment with a family-focus.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage and help create the social output of both the HER and HERFamily brands, working alongside a team of talented social creatives and digital journalists at our Dublin city centre offices.
Key responsibilities
● Lead the social vision of the Her brand across social platforms.
● Be responsible for the creation of daily trending content and social products to be published to Her social channels, in particular Instagram and TikTok.
● Contribute to weekly brainstorms on trends, video ideas, content strategy and more for the Her channels.
● Liaise with the Brand Director on a constant basis to devise creative ways to distribute editorial content via the Her social channels.
● Work with the sales teams and Brand Director to plan and execute a plan for the creation, promotion and sale of social products throughout the calendar year.
● Working with the Brand Director to maintain current quality of output while exploring new and exciting areas of opportunity.
● Propose new ideas and concepts for social media content. Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.
● Review performance of content, suggest improvement areas and work with Head of Social & Content Strategy and the Her Brand Director in maintaining the future of social media creation.
● Activate partner brands through social platforms using creative content and onscreen skills, collaborating with other departments - editorial, innovative, and client services - to ensure client needs and KPIs are met without compromising brand values.
● Discover, source, reach out on brand-aligned UGC
Skills
● Background in social media analytics a plus, or a social media management/ design/journalism /digital marketing /digital production background
● Ideas person who is able to contribute to brainstorms (editorial and commercial)
● Interest in society, entertainment and women’s issues
● Experience shooting video and using short form in-app editing software
● Strong on-screen presence and comfortable featuring in video and VOs
● Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
● Can-do attitude with strong attention to detail
● Solutions-oriented and proactive
● Willing to learn on the job and adapt depending on the circumstances
● Ability to multi-task and juggle different tasks depending on the day
Personal Qualities
● A deep knowledge of how social feeds and algorithms work - knowledge of how various platforms differ from each other.
● Experience working as a content creator or social media manager for a publisher, brand or business, having a proven track record in planning and implementing a clear social strategy
● A strong understanding and experience in using a range of social analytics tools (CrowdTangle, Google Analytics, Tagger, etc.) to monitor and achieve KPIs.
● Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/Canva needed
● Varied portfolio showcasing short-form social video formats, specifically designed for social media - showcasing front of camera presenting is preferred● A proven track record in pitch, storyboarding, directing (or assisting) on projects from ideation to final execution.
