The Emo Kids of 2000 are Sharing What They Look Like Now and The Difference is Hilarious

We all gotta grow up sometime.

Cassie Delaney

The Emo Years.

Saturdays spent outside central bank, browsing badges in Asha, listening to The Distillers. We all went through that phase. It started with a bit of Avril Lavigne and spiralled into something much more sinister. Something much less colourful. Much more chequered.

Luckily our pink chunky highlights grew out, our chains grew old and we grew up. RIP coloured eyeliner and other poorly researched beauty ideas.

And what became of our emo friends? Our moody comrades? Well, reddit user cheezeblock777 is on a mission to find out. Cheeze started a thread that has since gone viral asking old-skool emos to share their youthful photos with an update of where they currently are in life. The results are hilarious and relatable in equal measures.

Sadly our photos were lost in the, eh, fire.

Well, I am a normal, fat 28 year old that started his family early. I own my own home, make 50,000 a year in a medical field, and I am really enjoying life.
