We love them all!

Summer is in full swing, and we’re all dreaming of heading off on our holidays.

And as fabulous ladies, we all know the preparation that goes into getting summer ready.

One major thing we all love getting done before a trip? The nails, sure.

I was thinking about nails, and what trends are hot for summer 2018.

I chatted to Emma Percival, nail queen and owner of No. 29 Nail Lounge in Cabinteely.

The lovely Emma filled me in on the top five trends she’s spotted lately.

Some may actually surprise you a little…

I assumed that glitter nails were reserved for the festive season. I was wrong.

“I’m noticing that more and more ladies are opting for a glittery nail during the summer months.”

“Whether it’s a solid glitter nail, a fade or a top coat, you just can’t beat some sparkle. Interestingly, gold glitter seems to be the most popular this summer.”

Half Moons.

“Nail art in general is always popular, with ladies looking for something fun and unusual before they go on holiday, or to a festival.”

“And while I’ve been doing quite a few watermelons and pineapples, the half moon trend is on the major up. Minimalism is taking over.”

Seriously, half moons are a gorgeous and simple design that look amazing with contrasting colours.

Who doesn’t love a pop of colour when the sun is shining?

“Nothing compliments a tan more than a bright nail, and this summer people are going bonkers for orange. So much fun!”

Real talk: pastel shades are going nowhere ladies.

“This summer, I’ve seen people going mad for ice cream shades. From lemon sorbet to mint green – we all scream for ice cream. ”

Send Nudes.

There’s nothing better than a classic nude shade for a soft, feminine look.

“When my clients can’t make their minds up, they tend to opt for a cream or a rose shade. They go with every outfit, and always look chic.”
