Here’s your first look at Blake Lively in It Ends With Us

Kat O'Connor

People are divided over the latest It Ends With Us news

Fans of Coleen Hoover’s novel It Ends With Us are eager for the film to be released, but will it live up to the book’s hype? With Blake Lively playing the lead, we’re surely in pretty good hands, right?

Well, some fans are feeling unsure about the screen adaptation after the first official photos of the movie were released.

As an avid Gossip Girl fan, I’d happily watch Blake Lively in anything, but was she really the perfect actress for this role?

Many fans believe Lively may be too old to play the lead character Lily Bloom in It Ends With Us.

One fan wrote, “Love the book, love her, but this is just the worst casting ever!!!”

“From the bottom of my heart, I hate this casting,” another said.

One added, “The characters are not that old.”

Are fans jumping to conclusions a little bit? Maybe. We need to remember that the trailer hasn’t even been released yet so there’s hope for this film yet.

If you haven’t read It Ends With Us yet then you need to grab a copy of the novel before the film is released this summer.

What is It Ends With Us about?

The best-selling novel follows Lily, whose life hasn’t always been easy, but things seem to be slowly working out for her after she meets neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid.

Lily feels like everything is too good to be true when she meets Ryle.

Ryle isn’t completely perfect. He’s sometimes stubborn, and arrogant, but he has a total soft spot for Lily.

But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place. As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan-her first love and the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector.

When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.
