U2 have confirmed that despite speculation, Eagles of Death Metal will not be joining them on stage in Paris tonight.
EODM were performing in the Bataclan on November 13th, when gunmen stormed the concert area, killing 90 people, in a series of coordinated attacks across the French capital.
U2’s Paris concert dates were postponed in the aftermath of the attacks and rescheduled to tonight (Sunday) and Monday.
While it has been widely reported that the Eagles of Death Metal would join them for their final song tonight, they have denied this according to The Independent.
They said in a statement: “We’re back in Paris and it’s great to be here. Some people have been saying that Eagles of Death Metal will appear on stage with U2 tonight.
“This is not the case. We have another surprise guest planned for tonight’s show.”
They did not comment on whether or not the band will be joining them tomorrow night.
Earlier today, Bono revealed the lyrics to a Paris tribute song he has written for Italian artist Zucchero.
