Without the use of AI, the new track features all four members of The Beatles.

It has been over 50 years since The Beatles released new music, with their previous final track recording involving all four members being ‘The End’, recorded and released way back in 1969.

However, thanks to technology utilised by director Peter Jackson in the tremendous Disney+ documentary Get Back, vocals from an unused recording by John Lennon were able to be isolated, and with the permission of all of the estates involved and without the use of AI, a brand new and final ever track by The Beatles is just days away from being released into the world.

JOE had the opportunity to hear a sneak peak of ‘Now And Then’, and we can confirm it is properly brilliant, very much containing that timeless appeal and sound of The Beatles. We’re told that the track was “written and sung by John Lennon, developed and worked on by Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, and now finally finished by Paul and Ringo over four decades later.”

And to celebrate this momentous moment in music, there is a huge rollout of new Beatles content, including a documentary, a new music video, and digital and physical music releases. Here are all of the details you’ll need to know about the new track:

Wed 1 Nov – a short film on the making of the new track will debut at 7.30pm on BBC One, and the video will also be available on YouTube from that time.

Thu 2 Nov – ‘Now And Then’ will have its first radio play at 2pm on RTÉ Radio One, and the song will also be made available on digital platforms at that time. It will be released as a double A-Side along with ‘Love Me Do’, The Beatles first single, originally released in 1962.

Fri 3 Nov – The physical release of ‘Now And Then’, as well as the debut of the accompanying music video on YouTube.

Fri 10 Nov – Special re-releases of the Red & Blue Albums, including previously unheard tracks.

Yep, if you’re a fan of The Beatles, the next few days and weeks are going to be very exciting!
