The newest festive hit by Irish songstress, Aimée, has been named the winner of the Kildare Village Christmas FM Song Contest 2023.
Every year, Ireland’s festive radio station chooses the country’s next Christmas hit and this year they deemed the Dublin popstar’s newest song, ‘Grafton Street Lights, as the winner.
Following this, ‘Grafton Street Lights’ will be spreading the festive cheer over the Christmas FM airwaves.
Aimée joins other Christmas legends such as Mariah Carey and Michael Buble for her new festive hit.
‘Grafton Street Lights’ was composed by the Dublin native, who currently resides in Los Angeles, California, and she describes it as a love letter to Ireland.
She says that she wrote the song for the many Irish people who have moved out of Ireland and miss home at Christmas time.
“I feel extremely grateful that Christmas FM listeners loved my song enough to vote for it as the winning song this year! I’m delighted that listeners related to my song and I’m so glad that I decided to release it this Christmas,” Aimée shares.
“Since I was a child, Christmas FM has been one of my favourite things about this time of year – for ‘Grafton Street Lights’ to be chosen as the winning song is amazing, it’s a dream come true!”
