‘I’m in severe pain…’ Lady Gaga has this evening been taken to hospital

Just days after confirming that she suffers from fibromyalgia, Lady Gaga has been taken to hospital.

Cancelling a planned performance in Brazil, the popstar stated on Twitter: “I was taken to the hospital.” She also stressed that “it’s not simply hip pain or wear & tear from tour, I’m in severe pain.”

However, the 31-year-old added: “I’m in good hands with the very best doctors.”

Fibromyalgia causes chronic pain and is a muscular condition that also results in fatigue and memory-related issues.

On Thursday evening, initially the New York native took to social media to reveal: “Brazil, I’m devastated that I’m not well enough 2 come to Rock In Rio. I would do anything 4 u but I have to take care of my body right now.”

A later tweet added: “I ask for your grace and understanding, and promise that I will come back and perform for you soon.”

Her representatives furthermore released a statement which reads: “Lady Gaga is suffering from severe physical pain that has impacted her ability to perform.

“As a result, she sadly must withdrawn from this Friday’s Rock In Rio performance.

“Lady Gaga is under the care of expert medical professionals. She sends her love to a all her fans in Rio and thanks them for their support and understanding.”

It had been revealed that her battle with fibromyalgia will be documented in her new documentary set to land on Netflix on September 22.
