Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s rose tattoo has been voted the world celebrity tattoo of all time.
The X Factor judge shocked fans when she revealed the elaborate design on her back, bottom and thighs and according to Daily Mail, a poll of 1,000 has seen it voted as the worst tattoo ever.
The design was completed by Nikko Hurtado and is believed to have cost in the region of £12,000 but while it may not have been a hit with fans, Cheryl said she is happy with the finished product.
“It was really painful but I think I’m done with tattoos now. It wasn’t for any particular reason, I just liked the design. It took 15 hours in total,” she said.
Sarah Harding’s ‘Don’t Be Bitter – Glitter’ etching took second place, while Hayden Panettiere’s claimed third spot for her Italian ‘Vivere senza rimipanti’ tattoo, which was meant to say ‘To Live Without Regrets’ but was spelled wrong.
Incorrect spelling was the problem for David Beckham also, who took fourth place for getting his wife Victoria’s name wrong in his Sanskrit ‘Vihctoria’ design.
Katie Price came in fifth for a black cross that she used to cover ex-husband Peter Andre’s name, followed by Zayn Malik’s tribute to fiancée Perrie Edwards and Melanie Griffith’s trademark Antonio tattoo on her bicep.
The actress has since been forced to remove the Zorro star’s name after the pair announced their separation.
Angelina Jolie came in eighth for her Billy Bob Thornton tattoo, which she has subsequently removed, and Tulisa Contostavlos took ninth place for having ‘Lucky You’ stencilled on her bikini line.
One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson finished the top ten, claiming a spot for his ‘cup of tea’ design inspired by the band’s hit single Little Things.
