Add us as a preferred source on Google »Paul Mescal Snr, a school teacher from Kildare, will be starring in the showband themed musical this August.
The musical takes place in Donegal during the 1960s, with Mescal starring as 'disgruntled bar owner' Seamie McDaid.
The story follows Tommy O'Neill, member of an up-and-coming showband who struggles against the conservative nature of 1960s rural Ireland.
The musical features a live seven-piece band, playing songs such as "Rock Around the Clock" and "Hit the Road Jack."
Showband music and dance halls were an integral part of Irish society and life in the mid 20th century, so this musical is bound to be an impressive depiction of Irish lives back then.
The show will run from August 27th to August 31st in Dublin's Olympia Theatre.
Tickets to the show are approximately €21.
