Jay Slater has not been seen since Sunday, June 16th
A friend of missing 19-year-old Jay Slater has spoken out as the search for him continues.
The British teenager went missing after attending the New Rave Generation music festival in Tenerife last week.
Jay left the festival alone and nobody has heard from him since 8.15 am on June 17th.
He called his friend Lucy to tell her that he “cut his leg on a cactus and had no idea where he was”.
Nobody has heard from him since that call.
His loved ones have grown increasingly worried as the desperate search for the apprentice bricklayer continues.
It is believed his last known location was Reno Rural Park, which is over a 10-hour walk from where he was staying in Tenerife.
Friend urges public to stop messaging family unless it is vital
Speaking about her friend’s disappearance, Rachel Louise-Harg told the public that Jay’s loved ones are “drained beyond words”.
She wrote in a Facebook group, set up to help with the search, that they’re trying to remain positive.
She wrote, “There isn’t an update for anyone unfortunately.
“Struggling to find words at this time but all I can say is we are looking still and everyone is doing all they can!
“We are drained beyond words. I wish this would end now this living nightmare SEARCHES are ongoing and we remain positive.”
“If anyone has not got anything positive to say don’t even bother now just go away honestly. Thanks to you all for supporting and helping we can’t thank you anymore, much love.
She stressed, “Please stop messaging me and the family of Jay unless it’s vital.”
