This cozy New York rom-com is the perfect Sunday watch

Kat O'Connor

If you’re looking for a cozy rom-com to watch then this one is perfect

Sundays in October are made for cozy movie nights, but it’s hard to decide what to watch when there are so many options out there.

If you’re like me then watching a rom-com is always a safe bet. I usually lean towards the classics- ‘When Harry Met Sally‘, ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’ and ‘Notting Hill’. But there are so many new rom-coms that almost live up to the hype.

‘Set It Up’ is one modern rom-com that is up there with the greats. Leads Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell captured that classic rom-com magic perfectly with a witty script, and undeniable chemistry too. So, when I heard Zoey Deutch had another rom-com in the works then I just had to check it out.

Does it live up to ‘Set It Up’? Definitely, not but recreating Deutch and Powell’s chemistry is nearly impossible. They’re a duo that just can’t be matched, but ‘Something from Tiffany’s is worth watching.

The New York love story is a charming and easy-watch

It’s 93 minutes long, set in New York, has a charming storyline, and Deutch’s character Rachel has the dream wardrobe.

In, ‘Something from Tiffany’s’ Rachel’s (Zoey Deutch) boyfriend is hit by a car outside a Tiffany’s store. She wrongfully assumes he’s ready to propose when she finds a ring box in his belongings. Little does she know, the ring was accidentally left behind when a man performed first aid on her partner Gary.

Ethan (Kendrick Sampson) is left with earrings Gary bought for Rachel, and Gary has the engagement ring Ethan purchased for his girlfriend Vanessa.

At Christmas, when both open their respective box, the mix-up is discovered by Ethan, who remains silent because his girlfriend Vanessa likes the earrings Gary bought. Gary on the other hand, who is amnesiac from the accident, thinks he actually bought the ring and proposes to Rachel.

Ethan tries to meet up with Gary to try to get the ring back, but Gary gets stuck at work, leaving Ethan and Rachel alone together.

It’s an easy watch with a strong cast and the prettiest setting. Deutch is as charming as ever in this sweet and cozy film, but maybe watch ‘Set It Up’ before you give ‘Something from Tiffany’s’ a go.
