Happy Eras Tour movie release date to all who celebrate.

The highly-anticipated ‘Taylor Swift The Eras Tour‘ movie hits screens in Ireland today (October 13th) and it is expected to be bursting at the seams with stage content from Taylor Swift’s sold-out tour.

Hours of songs from the Bad Blood singer’s music catalogue can be viewed in cinemas now, and fans – with and without tickets to the tour itself – are rushing to claim their seats in theatres.

However, a PR expert believes there was a ‘missed opportunity’ as the concert-turned-movie does not include behind-the-scenes footage from the tour that die-hard Swifites’ would cut off their left arm to have access to, and that, knowing Taylor, 33, this was a pre-empted business move for something else in the pipeline: A Taylor Swift tv show.

Speaking to the Mirror, celebrity PR expert Jane Owen said she believes TayTay could have boosted her value even more had she included more intimate moments from the Eras Tour.

“I think Taylor missed a huge opportunity here to give the younger generation an added benefit to going to see her show in the movie theatre. If she had given behind the scenes or shared a personal experience with the audience I am sure she would not only have attracted the kids (and adults) who love her but could not get tickets to her Live concert, but also she would get those concert goers to buy tickets as well so they could themselves see that footage,” Jane explained.

“We live in an age where fans expect a certain amount of personal access and she’s given them a few bits of herself on her social media and in interviews. A bit more could have gone a long way.”

By keeping the movie strictly focused on the singing, Jane believes there could be a ‘cunning’ reason for this decision from Taylor, who she labelled as a ‘great business person’.

“The only reason I can think of that she did not do this is maybe she’s planning a new documentary about her private life or life story or maybe she’s planning to develop a movie about her life or a tv show and so wants to keep as much material for that as possible to make those films or tv shows more valuable when negotiating her contracts.”

The Eras Tour movie is now on show in cinemas following the premiere showing in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
