Everyone needs a side hustle. For Kesha, it’s being a Youtuber.
The singer has launched her own Youtube channel to share her love of all things makeup and beauty. Given her trademark colourful style, we reckon it’s a pretty good fit.
Like many of us, Kesha only found the time to pursue this hobby now that she’s stuck at home.
“There are so many things that have been on my list of what I would love to do, but I’ve been so over-consumed with writing music, producing music, designing the tour outfits, working on the choreography,” she told Allure. “All that has obviously been put on hold right now.”
Of course unlike others starting a vlogging career, she’s not a 16-year-old girl filming herself using budget brands. In her first video, Kesha sits down with her makeup artist Vittorio Masecchia on a Zoom call. With his guidance, she goes for natural, glowing glam to film the music video for her song Since I Was Young.

“I usually do a really intense eye with a lot of sparkles and colour, but for this more introspective song, I wanted a timeless and classic look.”
The first thing we wanted to know is what products does Kesha use? There are some brands in the tutorial that you may not recognise but it turns out that, like us, she’s a big fan of Charlotte Tilbury.
Firstly, she uses the brand’s Magic Away concealer to brighten under her eyes. As you’ll see in the video, this stuff is unreal for making you look fresher and more awake. She then uses the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder to set the makeup, with Vittorio urging her to use a light hand; “You don’t want it to be too powdery!”
Lastly, Kesha uses another favourite of ours, the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand in Pillow Talk, to highlight. The star admits that she doesn’t really know what she’s doing so Vittorio advises her to press off some excess product onto her hand before she dabs it on her cheekbones and above the eyebrow with her finger. She uses whatever is left to add a glow to her cupid’s bow and the tip of her nose.
There are plenty more MUA tricks and hacks to be gleaned here so the full vid is well worth a look.
