I’m sure we’ve all been victim to an orange coating along the neck of a jumper or hoodie

If you’re a Millennial, you’ll remember that many of us failed to focus on our necks when applying foundation in the early 2000s.

Now that it’s not a trend to have a face full of foundation next to a bare neck, we contend with a new challenge: keeping the makeup from transferring to the neck of clothes.

The lighter the clothing, the more obvious the foundation blunder gets.

One woman has kindly shared a cheap and cheerful trick for ensuring your foundation doesn’t budge from your neck and keeps your tops lovely and clean.

Exhibiting her hoodie with the dreaded orange stain, Hazel Wood (@hazelwoodx) has shared a preventative measure for the makeup woe.

“If your hoodies look like this after just a few minutes of wearing them, I’ve just found something that’s going to save you time and time again,” she said.

“Like, look at that. Seriously! It’s gross! And it’s something you’re going to have in your house.”

Hazel then shows herself wearing a makeup free hoodie while revealing her savvy secret.

“I have literally just sprayed this hoodie before I put it on, just kind of inside and on the outside as well, and it’s completely stopped the transfer of make-up – and I have make-up down my neck.

“I am shook. How have I only just found out about this?

“I know there’s the proper spray for your face now that stops your make-up transferring but if you don’t have the money to buy it, or you don’t want another product, just use a good ol’ bit of hairspray.”

“sure any would work”.

Many users, delighted to learn this new information, discussed the hack in the comments, while one pointed out that hairspray can be used in other areas of our beauty routine.

“Gal do it on the cuffs too if wearing tan,” one user suggested.

Meanwhile, others users shared that washing -up liquid worked wonders on the clothes that were spoiled by foundation transfer!
