Elton John and his husband David Furnish are set to receive a joint lifetime achievement award for their contribution to music and their charity work.
The couple is set to be honoured with the artist and manager partnership prize at the Artist & Manager Awards, according to the Featured Artists Coalition (FAC) and Music Managers Forum (MMF).
This is set to celebrate the pair’s “remarkable shared successes and their incredible ongoing impact on an upcoming generation of artists and audiences”.
The couple has been married since 2014, sharing two children together, with the couple being together since 1993.
The couple has worked together for decades on various different charity projects, as well as Elton’s lengthy music career.
Elton founded the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 1992 which has raised millions for AIDS research since it began.
The other reason the pair are said to be getting the award is due to Elton’s guidance towards upcoming artists after the two were praised for showing support for touring musicians post-Brexit.
Paul Craig, chair of the Music Managers Forum, said: “On behalf of the MMF, I also want to take this opportunity to pay tribute to their invaluable advocacy work, and particularly on the issue of post-Brexit touring which will impact all artists and where David and Elton have both led from the front.
“For all these reasons, the MMF and FAC are beyond excited that both will be joining us in person to pick up their awards.”
The Artist & Manager Awards are set to take place on November 18.
