But her hips don’t lie?

Shakira is in court defending her song ‘La Bicicleta’ from plagiarism allegations.

The Colombian singer songwriter attended court in Madrid today alongside follow singer Carlos Vives to defend the song against singer Livan Rafael Castellanos’s accusations.

The Cuban artist has claimed that ‘La Bicicleta’ uses rhythm, lyrics, and melody similar to his 1997 song, ‘Yo te quiero tanto.’

Fox News reports that Shakira and Vives have denied the allegations, and that the latter “welcomes” the opportunity to clear his name.

This comes some months after the South American star was charged with tax evasion.

Prosecutors in Spain said that the 41-year-old avoided paying €14.5 million in tax there by claiming to live in the Bahamas.

Shakira officially changed her primary residence from the Bahamas to Spain in 2015, but authorities believe she was also living in Spain between 2012 and 2014, only travelling abroad for short periods.

Income tax rates in the Bahamas are among the lowest in the world.

A representative for Shakira said that she was not a resident of Spain at the time in question and that she was being used as a “scapegoat” to scare others into paying tax.
