Summer is finally here.
After months of woolly socks, nylon tights, and clunky boots, it’s finally time to root out the sandals from the back of our wardrobes.
But first things first ladies, we need to get our feet in order.
While it’s easy to just ignore those little piggies during the winter months, you want to make sure you’re quite literally putting your best feet forward during the summer.
So, get rid of that hard, cracked skin on your feet with our handy tips below.
Soak
Before you start your pedicure session, soak your feet in warm water for 20 minutes. This will help loosen the dead skin cells. Adding lemon juice or vinegar to your water will also help speed up this process. The acid in lemon juice helps to break down dead skin cells while vinegar helps to smooth the skin on your feet.
Scrub
After soaking, scrub your feet with a foot scrub or a good old-fashioned pumice stone for at least 5 minutes. Once you are finished, dry your feet fully with a towel.
Moisturise
Always, always, always moisturise. After all your scrubbing, apply a good quality moisturiser generously to your feet.
Grab your socks
To really get the full benefit of your moisturiser, pop on a nice pair of clean cotton socks and allow your feet to soak up the cream overnight.
Polish
Don’t forget to give your toes a quick polish and you’re good to go. Bring on those flip-flops.
