Trend Watch for Autumn/Winter : 50 Shades Of Pink

How to nail the biggest trend of this season...

Cathy Donohue

From dusty deep pinks and baby sherbets to cerise hues, there is no escaping pink this season. Great news if you’re a fan, not so much if you refused to wear pink once you reached the age of seven.

So, how exactly can we nail this trend without looking like one of Barbie’s older sisters? The answer to that is pretty simple. Choose one pink piece and style your look around it. This means you stay on trend without going too far out of your comfort zone.

It’s safe to say this off-pink jumper will sell out once it drops in Penneys. On trend, warm and only €14 equals a major bargain alert. Pair it with your favourite jeans or tucked into a high waisted skirt and prepare for questions on where you snapped it up.

The key to dressing in pink is introducing it bit by bit and this Topshop satchel is the perfect way to do so. Styled with denim for day or a pretty dress for night this is multi-tasking for accessories. Priced at €50 this is a reasonably priced splurge when shopping for your winter wardrobe.

This Jonathan Saunders coat from Debenhams, £155 (€180) combines two AW13 trends, oversized outwear and pink, so it’s like a 2 for I deal, and who doesn’t love those? Staying warm and cosy while on top of the fash pack… it’s a win win situation. It may be a tad expensive but the quality of this piece ensures you will wear it season after season.
