Challengers has become our latest obsession thanks to Zendaya
Since Challengers hit our cinemas at the end of April, we’ve been obsessed with Zendaya and her new aesthetic on screen and off. The actress has perfected the art of dressing according to the themes in her movies, as we’ve previously seen with Spiderman and Dune.
Tenniscore is the latest trend Zendaya has inspired. As seen on the press tour, this look can be achieved with pleated skirts, v-necks and stripes, and shades of bright green. While we may not be as lucky as Zendaya to have Law Roach as our personal stylist, that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun with the style this summer.
Skirts & Skorts:
Who says leggings are the only comfy athleisure to wear to the gym? With the weather warming up, skorts and skirts are the perfect alternatives and come in enough styles and colours to suit everyone. They’re flattering, fun, and easy to move in.
- Lululemon Pace Rival Mid-Rise Skirt – €34.00
- Pull and Bear White Box Mini Skirt – €19.99
- Adidas Originals Pleated Skirt – €18.00
- Slazenger Pleated Skort – €12.00

Tops:
V-necks, stripes, and waistcoats are perfect for ‘tenniscore.’ You can stay casual with a vest for the gym or dress it up by wearing a chic polo collar. Either way, comfort always comes first while still being on trend.
- Dunnes Contour Vest – €12.00
- Stradivarius Contrast Polo Shirt – €12.99
- Diesel Philippa Knit Vest – €20.00
Dresses:
There’s a reason players wear dresses during a tennis match – not only are they easy to move and breathe, but they’re also incredibly stylish. When it comes to picking an outfit for summer, there’s nothing better than the ease of a one-piece.
- Bershka Pleated Mini Dress – €29.99
- ASOS Design knitted mini dress – €27.99
Shoes:
You simply can’t dress ‘tenniscore’ without tennis shoes, and luckily there’s plenty of options available since the trainers takeover that’s been ongoing with brands like Adidas and Asics. If you’re wanting to dress it up a bit but maybe not willing to attach tennis balls to your stilettos á la Zendaya, ballet flats and slingback heels also fit the dress code well.
- Adidas Stan Smith Shoes – €110.00
- Adidas Originals Gazelle Indoor – €120.00
- Friends Like These Kitten Heels – €40.00

Accessories:
Even adding some simple accessories like a headband or scrunchie can elevate a look. Should summer 2024 be the time to bring back the visor? Zendaya would be the celebrity to bring it back.
- H&M Cotton Cap – €9.99
- Decathlon Running Visor – €6.00
- H&M Twill Sun Visor – €12.99
- Reclaimed Vintage Oversized Scrunchie – €10.00
- Lululemon Training Headband – €15.00
