Although it’s easy to make a habit of shopping based on ‘what’s in’, this isn’t always a good idea.
Buying according to trends can incur debts pretty quickly and just because a piece is fashion forward doesn’t mean it will suit all body shapes.
Investment pieces in contrast, actually stand the test of time.
Each week we aim to introduce a new piece for your wardrobe and provide three options from where to buy, catering for all budgets.
Save – €18 at Penneys.
Penneys is always the first port of call when it comes to on-trend pieces at affordable prices. Sports luxe is a big look for spring/summer 2014 and this kitsch floral printed bomber jacket is guaranteed to bring your wardrobe bang up to date. For €18, this is a serious bargain.
Steal – £15/ €20 at Topshop
Leopard print isn’t for everyone, but if you decide to wear it, you might as well go all out. This bomber will bring new life to skinny black jeans, a black dress or even a simple white t-shirt and denim combination. While it’s not something you would spend a fortune on, this a fun item that won’t break the bank.
Splurge – €335 at BT2.
Pop Icons, a pop-up shop showcasing labels such as Acne Studios, Kenzo and Brian Litchtenberg, has just launched at BT2. Neon brights, a kaleidoscope of prints and retro accessories are set against a monochrome decor. We can’t get enough of it and predict fellow fashion enthusiasts will feel the same. Check out the Opening Ceremony bomber below, it’s a little pricey but is one item that can single-handedly make over your wardrobe.
