They are going down a more sustainable route.
Prada is one of those designer brands that have staple pieces, from their bucket hats and tank tops to their loafers and triangle logo.
It’s a brand everybody knows, and one that never changes – only reinvents itself.
When it comes to Prada’s jewellery, the gold pieces are what makes it, especially when it comes to their fine jewellery. With a near 50-piece collection, Prada aims to give “contemporary meaning and relevance to classic shapes.”
Of course, the graphic icon has been incorporated into the collection, which is made up of pieces available to buy immediately and through pre-order or made-to-order.
The iconic triangle has been brought into this collection in more ways than one, from the closure of the jewellery, the pendants themselves and the chains – every detail is covered.
But the newest aspect of their collection? Each piece is made of 100% recycled gold and pavé diamonds, which are certified, verifiable and traceable.
Prada jewellery director Timothy Iwata told Vogue: “We wanted to celebrate the difficulties faced, in exaggerated form.
“When snakes shed their skin they are shiny and bright. That’s our symbol of the essence of transformation.
“We were thinking about how the modern woman is not just one thing.”
