Back in the day Rod Stewart posed a very interesting question in one of his songs: “So what becomes of you my love now they have finally stripped you of the handbags…?”
Well Rod we would become quivering wrecks! Just imagine trying to carry your multitude of belongings around the streets with your bare hands. The word impossible comes to mind.
This question simply highlights how vital handbags are to us at Her.ie towers. In fact there are some handbags we just simply couldn’t live without (well, we could live without them but we’d rather not):
1. The Clutch – What’s that old saying… good things come in small packages? Well we certainly think so when it comes to clutch bags. The clutch is one of the most versatile bags you can own and it really does suit every style of occasion. It’s ideal for weddings, nights out and fancy dinners. While we do wish we had a little more room in there for our makeup, there’s not a bad word we can say about the clutch bag. Also, it’s the perfect excuse to getting that matching pair of shoes!
2. The Satchel – The satchel bag is the ultimate causal handbag for everyday use. And better still you can put literally everything you need into it from your purse to your diary to your emergency cashew nuts for when you get peckish. Whether you are heading to work or into town the satchel is the way to go. We just adore the old-school style ones. They go perfectly with our skinny jeans and brogues combo.
3. The Tote – We don’t really know how we did our shopping before we got our hands on the tote. What we can tell you is we didn’t look half as good as we do now! The tote bag is light-weight, affordable and extremely practical. You can even store it in your handbag in case you need it for an impromptu shopping spree.
4. The Beach– Brilliant for the beach, great for the gym and perfect for the plane. The beach bag is so handy when you’re at home and on holidays. You can fit so much stuff into it and more importantly it saves you from having to carry a backpack around with you all day and committing a fashion crime against your gorgeous new summer dress. Useful and fashionable, what more could you want from a bag?
5. The Designer – Every woman aspires to buying a designer handbag. At Her.ie we’re no different… although we’re on the lookout for the smallest and cheapest one. There’s just something about a designer bag that makes us want one so badly. We don’t know if it’s the famous name, the leathery smell or the soft feel. Perhaps it’s all three! Then again it could be our inner longing to be like SJP. Either way we’re saving every spare cent we have in the hope that someday we’ll finally be able to complete our handbag collection.
