Coming-of-age drama The Summer I Turned Pretty became one of the most-watched shows on Amazon after its release in 2022.
The charming, but emotional series is based on the books of the same name by Jenny Han. If you're a fan of teen dramas then you're bound to love the Amazon show.
Unfortunately, fans will likely be waiting quite some time for new episodes to be released.
Amazon shared the pretty disappointing news this week that the show's release date has been pushed to 2025.
Not only has it been pushed, but it won't be released until the summer of 2025, meaning fans have over a year to wait for new episodes.
The third series will follow a similar plot to the book with Belly focusing on her relationship with Jeremiah. However, his brother Conrad will continue to yearn for Belly and regret ever letting her go.
Belly is set to face a difficult decision and may have to choose between Conrad and Jeremiah, but which brother will she pick?
The series was delayed due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes, but the cast confirmed they have finally started filming this month.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, actor Gavin Caselegno confirmed that filming was nearly delayed until October.
"I think we’re filming in March. I have zero idea of a script," he said.
"I don’t even know. It could even be, like, filming in October or July. I’m just going off rumors. Sometime this year. Hopefully soon. I hope. That’s all I got for you."
Christopher Briney, Lola Tung, Gavin Caselegno, Sean Kaufman, and Rain Spencer are all set to return for the third and final season.
The team at Amazon has confirmed that there will be 11 episodes featured in the third season so it will be worth the wait.
