Yesterday in a New York courthouse, a judge ruled that singer Kesha was not permitted to break her contract with her record company Sony BMG in order to avoid working with her alleged abuser and prolific producer Dr. Luke.
#FreeKesha has been the top trending topic on Twitter for almost a day now, with several petitions circulation requesting for Kesha to have freedom to make music outside the purview of Dr. Luke.
While many prominent musical figures have stayed quiet, others have come forward and stood in support of the struggling singer, who was seen sobbing in the courtroom as the verdict was delivered yesterday.
My thoughts are with @KeshaRose today. I’m sorry you’ve had to endure this experience.
