“Happy birthday, Jesus. Sorry your birthday’s so lame”
Whether you’re a diehard fan of ‘The Office’, if you dabble, or if you’ve never seen an episode of the series in your life, the Christmas episodes are always enjoyable.
When that Christmas Day lull rolls around and you’re looking for something to watch, ‘This Office’ will never disappoint.
To narrow down your entertainment search today, we’ve compiled all of the Christmas-themed episodes from the hilarious sitcom.
‘Christmas Party’: Season 2, Episode 10
Kicking off the list Dunder Mifflin’s iconic Christmas party.
In this episode, the office employees participate in ‘Secret Santa’, where a $20 limit has been set.
Of course, Michael Scott being Michael Scott goes far beyond the limit and buys an iPod for his ‘Secret Santa’, which results in awkward, cringe, and hilarious scenes.
He goes the extra mile by breaking corporate rules and adding alcohol into the equation.
This is also a special stand-out episode for Jim and Pam’s relationship.
A must watch.
‘A Benihana Christmas’: Season 3, Episode 10
As tensions mount between Angela and Karen (Jim’s new love interest) on the party planning committee, the office Christmas party splits off into two, doubling the hilarity for viewers.
While Karen and Pam get closer, Jim’s uncomfortability levels rise.
Meanwhile, Michael, after a depressive episode from going through a breakup, is determined to live the single life – which, of course, goes wrong.
It’s got something for everyone.
‘Moroccan Christmas’: Season 5, Episode 11
After a two-season hiatus, fans finally get a new Christmas-themed episode.
This one sees Phyllis throwing a Moroccan-themed Christmas party in her new role as head of the Party Planning Committee, both of which infuriate Angela equally.
Viewers are introduced to a more wicked side than they’re used to with Phyllis as party planning power goes to her head.
The party takes somewhat of a dark turn as Meredith has a few too many drinks – I won’t ruin the outcomes of her drinking, but it ranges from extreme to laugh out loud.
‘Secret Santa’: Season 6, Episode 13
Michael determined to be Santa Claus is miserable when he learns that Jim has given Phyllis the role.
Of course, when Michael is miserable, everyone around him must be too.
He decides dressing as Jesus is the next best option and torments Phyllis who is merrily handing out Christmas gifts. Iconic.
However, a darkness looms when CEO David Wallace lets slip that they are all at risk of losing their jobs.
‘Classy Christmas’: Season 7, Episodes 11 and 12
This will forever be one of my favourite ‘The Office’ episodes for a number of reasons.
Outside of the fact it is absolutely hilarious, it’s Michael Scott’s last Christmas at Dunder Mifflin before Steve Carell left the show and his iconic role for good.
‘Classy Christmas’ spans across two episodes, and sees the return of Michael’s soulmate, Holly Flax, to Scranton.
Michael decides he wants a classier and sexier vibe for the office party, in the hopes she will leave her current partner, A.J.
If you thought that being extreme was Michael’s default, Michael desperately in love is another story.
Elsewhere, Jim and Dwight are engaged in a snowball fight that has them both on edge.
‘Christmas Wishes’: Season 8, Episode 10
Our first Christmas with a new branch manager, Andy Bernard, AKA Nard-Dog, and under new Dundler Mifflin CEO, Robert California – who somehow manages to be the most unnerving and cringy character on the staff
Ever the people-pleaser, Andy tries to grant every employee’s Christmas wishes and also pleads with the office to be nice and welcoming to his new girlfriend, Jessica.
His former flame and office receptionist, Erin, ends up drinking too much, resulting in a stressful outcome for Andy and hilarious watching for viewers.
‘Dwight Christmas’: Season 9, Episode 9
Any Dwight-centered episode is always guaranteed to be funny and a very fitting one to complete our list.
After setting up an on-brand Pennsylvanian Dutch-themed office Christmas party, it receives a lukewarm reception from staff as nobody understands it – the story of Dwight’s life.
He hilariously dresses up as the traditional winter Christmas gift-bringer figure, Belsnickel, serves German food, and plays a game similar to ‘Naught or Nice’.
Jim, who now works two jobs, has to depart, much to the disappointment of Pam and Dwight, however, this is overall a very heartwarming watch.
The perfect final Christmas episode for the series.
In the words of Michael Scott: Christmas is awesome. First of all, you get to spend time with people you love. Secondly, you can get drunk and no one can say anything. Third, you give presents.
Have a good one!
