Bridgerton won’t be the same without Kate and Anthony
As excited as fans are about the upcoming season of Bridgerton, they can’t help but worry about the future of one couple.
Kate and Anthony were noticeably absent from this week’s Bridgerton event in London, but does that mean they won’t feature in season three?
Fans took to Instagram to discuss the beloved couple’s absence after Shonda Rhimes and the Bridgerton cast gathered to discuss the new season in London.
One said: “No Kanthony… I knew it…The fact that they have already done their season does not mean that they are not fundamental members of the Bridgerton family! You seem to have forgotten that they are the heads of the family.”
Another added: “We need some shots of the viscount and viscountess to make sure they’re alright.”
One wrote: “Literally no point in watching this season if there’s nothing of Kate & Anthony. We were robbed of their wedding & so much more last season.”
Despite the backlash, Shonda Rhimes is still excited about the upcoming season of her Netflix hit.
Season three of Bridgerton is for the wallflowers
She told Netflix: “Usually we’re meeting a new person who’s falling in love with one of our regulars, but this time, we know the people who are falling in love. We’re already rooting for them because we already know them, and I’m excited about that.”
Showrunner Jess Brownell added: “Colin and Penelope are underdogs in many ways…we get to see these characters step into their power this year, which I think will make a lot of people who have ever had an unrequited crush or felt like an underdog before feel very seen.”
This season will see Irish actress Nicola Coughlan and English actor Luke Newton take on the leading roles and we cannot wait to see our girl Nicola shine.
