Say it’s not so!
This contains spoilers for the most recent episode of Great British Bake Off.
Great British Bake Off fans were devastated on Tuesday as the latest baker to leave the tent was confirmed.
In a quarter-final centred around “forgotten” British bakes, it was the show’s youngest contestant, Liam Charles, who ultimately got axed.
The trick is to keep smiling. Thanks for the bakes, the fun and those amazing facial expressions, Liam! #GBBO pic.twitter.com/WbwIvYuMjs

The 19-year-old seemed to struggle in both the technical challenge and showstopper rounds in the popular baking series, which led to the judges’ decision.
We'll miss you, Liam – you have so much to be proud of! #GBBO pic.twitter.com/xt7UOOF3pe

Liam took the news in stride, adding in his exit interview:
“Onwards and upwards.
“It’s not the end of me, it’s just the beginning.
“I’m coming for Paul Hollywood’s job in a couple of years!”
But fans watching the show at home weren’t handling the news quite as well.
