‘Taken way too soon’ – Tributes pour in for 15-year-old Molly Dempsey

Molly Dempsey sadly passed away in an accident in Co. Wicklow

Tributes have been pouring in for 15-year-old Molly Dempsey who sadly passed away in an accident in Co. Wicklow on Sunday, May 5th.

The teenager was travelling in a car when it was involved in a single-vehicle road traffic collision shortly before 5 am on Sunday.

The incident took place at Slaney Park in Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow.

Gardaí confirmed a female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the car, a male in his teens, was arrested on suspicion of offences under the Road Traffic Act and detained at a Garda Station in Wicklow.

However, he has since been released from custody.

Molly has been remembered as a “beautiful” girl who “will always be remembered”.

Another said: “I hope you get the best bed up there your our angel.”

Gardaí are urging witnesses to come forward following the fatal accident.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam footage) and were travelling in the Slaney Park area between 4:30 am and 5:00 am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
