Jennifer Zamparelli is leaving 2FM after ten years

Broadcaster Jennifer Zamparelli has responded to claims she had a fallout with 2FM boss Dan Healy.

The Sun claimed that Zamparelli left due to format changes to her show, but she has since shut down the rumours.

She told the publication, “There is no row. I really appreciate Dan Healy, especially his understanding in me wanting more time at home.”

A source told The Sun: “Dan wanted to change the format of Jennifer’s show and Jennifer wanted it kept as it was. There was a difference of views and Jennifer decided to go on leave shortly after.”

Speaking about the career milestone, the radio host said the last ten years have been truly incredible.

“It’s been a really difficult decision to make as I love my team, and of course chatting to you guys every morning.

“From the early starts on Breakfast Republic all those years ago to opening up the phone lines again, I have loved every minute (yep even broadcasting from my wardrobe during Covid). Within this time I have gotten married, had two kids, and now I feel it’s their time.”

The mum-of-two explained that she wants to spend more time with her family, especially her children Florence and Enzo.

She believes this is the perfect time to leave so her children can have “a little more of me”.

Jennifer praised the team she has worked with over the years and said she felt so blessed to work alongside them for so long.

Jennifer promised to continue listening to 2FM and said she could not wait to see what’s next for the station.

“I’m so excited for this next chapter and also to see what happens next with the station… I will be tuning in for sure,” she wrote.

Dan Healy thanked the presenter for the last ten years in a statement.

“After an amazing 10 years on 2FM, Jen has decided to leave the station. Funny, bold, and brave, Jen has been front and centre of 2FM from The Breakfast Republic Show to her brilliant own Jennifer Zamparelli Show.

“In February 2014, 2FM changed direction to appeal to younger audiences and Jen was key to achieving our goal. I want to thank her deeply for her energy and commitment to 2FM.”

Her exit comes after Doireann Garrihy and the Two Johnnies also confirmed they were leaving 2FM.
