Angela married her partner Roy Horgan in 2014, and in 2018, they welcomed their first child, a baby girl they named Ruby.
Earlier this year, Angela celebrated Ruby’s third birthday and reflected on her motherhood journey with a post on Instagram.
Sharing a series of pictures from Ruby’s special day, Angela wrote: “Yesterday, our baby girl turned 3. I am 3 years a mother! I woke up feeling relieved & went to bed feeling full of love & thanks.
“3 years ago I was a shell. I had left hospital with this perfect little human & I didn’t know how to be a mother.”
She continued: “I didn’t know what to do, how I should feel, I struggled to feed her, I held my breath when she cried.
“I was numb for a long time & I was afraid that I might never feel anything much, that maybe I was broken or a bit defective.
“I watched other people in the ‘new born love bubble’ & longed to have that experience for both of us, instead I felt like a wild failure.”
The Co. Meath woman then went on to say: “Yesterday, 3 years on, I felt like a good mother, not because of presents or Paw Patrol chocolate coins but because I was able to fully LOVE with all of me. To be properly there in the moment & to celebrate her & us.
“We had cake & balloons & a Zoom call with our clans where no one could hear anyone but it was perfect!!”
