Talk about a cliffhanger.
This story contains spoilers for the series finale of Liar and season two of the drama.
We don’t recommend going any further until you’re all caught up – unless you fancy reading spoilers.
Liar has kept viewers at the edge of their seats for the last few weeks as they hoped to see Andrew Earlham brought to justice.
The six-part psychological thriller came to an end with a cliffhanger that fans will be unlikely to forget any time soon.
Viewers were left reeling when the final moments of the episode revealed a very dead-looking Andrew – just as he was going to be arrested for his crimes.
But the cliffhanger was met with mixed reaction.
Am absolutely raging!!! Wanted to see the look on Andrews face when he got caught 😡 why would you kill him off #Liar

So frustrating how she went through all that to find evidence and someone just kills him, so he basically got away with it 😤🤦🏽♂️ #liar

Here’s everything we know about season two so far…
Is it definitely coming back?
Yes.
ITV confirmed immediately after the episode aired in the UK on Monday night that season two would be coming – eventually.
When does it air?
There’s no official word on a release date just yet, but fans will definitely be waiting awhile.
The series only begins in filming in January 2019.
Will the original cast be back?
Yes – Joanna Froggatt and Ioan Gruffudd, who played Laura and Andrew, will be returning.
While he may have died in the season finale, there’s always flashbacks, right?
What will it be about?
The second series of the drama will focus on the murder of serial rapist Andrew Earlham, who was discovered in the marshes in the final moments of season one.
The character was missing for a number of weeks before he was finally discovered, and the season will fill in the blanks of what happened during that time.
“Liar has gripped the nation over the last six weeks and we’re delighted both Joanne and Ioan will return to play Laura and Andrew.“Jack and Harry Williams are incredible storytellers and part two of Liar will have the audience equally gripped, as we find out who killed Andrew Earlham.”
Who killed Andrew?
We have no clue – and definitely would rather know sooner than later.
There’s no shortage of candidates though, all of whom were looking pretty worried in the final montage.
Writer Harry Williams told The Mirror:
“There are certainly a few suspects and we hope to explore that further.
“Andrew has been missing for several weeks and then we see his dead body in the empty marshlands.
“The question is: what happened in those missing weeks that led to Andrew’s demise?”
Joanne Froggatt’s Laura is one of the prime suspects so far, as is her sister Katy, one of Andrew’s other victims DI Vanessa Harmon, or her recently-returned partner Jennifer.
But Laura’s ex-boyfriend Tom, who lost his job because of the accusations Earldom made against him, is also a suspect – as is his son, Luke, who lied to give his dad an alibi.
