It’s about time.
Over the past few weeks, the BBC has been drip-feeding us all information on exactly who’s going to be strutting their stuff on the Strictly dancefloor this year.
We’ve already heard about JLS‘s Aston Merrygold, The Saturdays’ Mollie King, and the wonderful Reverend Richard Coles, but now that we’ve finally got the full line-up we can actually start getting excited.
The latest celebs to be joining the lads are former X-Factor contestant Alexandra Burke, who is sure to be absolutely unreal on the show, and TV and stage performer Debbie McGee.
McGee rose to fame back in the early ’80s when she became magician Paul Daniels’ assistant.
She later married Daniels and the pair remained together until the magician’s death last March.
The full Strictly line-up for this year includes:
The Saturdays‘ Mollie King
This Morning‘s Ruth Langsford
Actress and glamour model Gemma Atkinson
EastEnders‘ Davood Ghadami
Revd. Richard Coles
Comedian Susan Calman
Holby City and Heartbeat’s Joe McFadden
JLS‘s Aston Merrygold
TV chef Simon Rimmer
TV personality Debbie McGee
Comedian Brian Conley
TV presenter and journalist Charlotte Hawkins
Athlete Jonnie Peacock
Singer Alexandra Burke
and actress Chizzy Akudolu
This year’s Strictly is set to kick off some time towards the end of September and continue on until Christmas.
We are yet to receive a start date for the show, but September’s not too far away so we won’t have long to wait, thankfully.
Judges Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell will be returning, with Shirley Ballas replacing Len Goodman as head judge on the panel.
Ballas is a world-famous ballroom dancer so we’re sure her level of expertise is exactly what the judging panel needs.
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman also look set to return to their hosting duties.
Daly took over from TV veteran Bruce Forsyth back in 2014 due to health related issues.
Forsyth passed away in his home last Friday.
