Amanda Abbington is none too pleased with Strictly
According to The Mirror, the actress and former contestant on the show has been denied a spot on the Strictly Come Dancing reunion tour, leaving her “furious”.
An insider told the publication: “Amanda made it clear she was desperate to have a slot. It was a real blow for her and she was fuming. She felt snubbed.”
The news comes as the 51-year-old claimed that her time on the show had left her with PTSD and requested to have access to her rehearsal footage so she can decide whether or not to take legal action.
Amanda was paired with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, but quit the BBC programme mid-series last year citing “personal issues”.
Yet as soon as she made her exit, rumours started to swirl that she was having issues with her pro partner due to his “militant approach to training”.
An inside source told The Telegraph: “It could be that she didn’t know what she let herself in for.
“He [Giovanni] was quite tough and she found that difficult. If she wasn’t very well, that wouldn’t have helped.
“She was with a partner who had a certain training style that she couldn’t cope with. Whether that came to a head or whether there’s something else going on I don’t know.”
This week it came out that BBC bosses would be standing by Giovanni throughout this situation.
According to The Sun, bosses arranged a call between Giovanni’s management and Strictly executives where they offered him their full support.
On Monday, the BBC released a statement claiming they would have picked up on any bad behaviour at the time given their duty of care procedures.
