There’s a glimmer of hope for Downton Abbey fans, there might be a movie on the way.
The executive producer of the series, Gareth Neame, has said recently that he would be interested in taking the period drama to the big screen and that creator Julian Fellowes is also interested in it happening.
According to ABC News he said, “Julian and I would like to make the movie. We’re having detailed thinking about it all.
“But there’s a lot to be worked out. Turning a TV show into a movie is not straightforward, it doesn’t happen very often and it’s not uncomplicated.”
He added, “That can sometimes take a while. But in principle, those of us who have given many years of our lives over to the show would be keen to do it if we could make it work.”
If a Downton Abbey movie were to happen, Naeme reckons it will be in the ‘next few years’.
