Want To Stream Adele’s New Album? Well You’re Out Of Luck.

Why is she doing this to us?

After a four year wait, Adele has released her third album 25 today.

However if you go to listen to it on Spotify or Apple Music you’ll be sorely disappointed as the album won’t be available on streaming services. According to the New York Times, 25 is set to be one of the biggest successes the music industry has seen in many years, and Billboard are reporting that the album will sell 2.5 million copies in it’s first week in the United States.

Adele’s decision mirrors that of Taylor Swift who removed her music from Spotify as she felt it was being devalued by users listening to it without paying anything to do so. In a statement Spotify stated: ‘We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify. We hope that she will give those fans the opportunity to enjoy ‘25’ on Spotify alongside ‘19’ and ‘21’ very soon.’

When you look at the track record of music stars like Beyonce, who held off on streaming her most recent album for almost a year, we won’t be seeing 25 on services like Spotify anytime soon.
