A team of wildlife experts have been summoned to the city of Meerut in India after a leopard injured seven people.
The animal was first spotted yesterday afternoon in the Sadar area of the city, roaming around a timber shop before making its way to nearby Cantonment Hospital.
According to the Hindustan Times, Meerut remains on high alert after the animal, who was trapped inside a room of the cantonment hospital, escaped during a rescue operation by wildlife experts around midnight.
This incredible image below captured the moment the leopard escapes through a hole in hospital’s wall, evading captors.
CCTV footage shows the leopard entering a nearby complex around in the early hours of this morning.
Officials from the Wildlife Trust of India and forest officials reached the market but failed to locate the animal.
