All you need to know on the Ireland Canada game
Ireland are the underdogs in the Group B match against the Canadians. The Canucks are ranked 7th in the world and are the reigning champions.
Canada have 40-year-old Christine Sinclair in their ranks. The Portland Thorns forward has scored a staggering 190 goals in an equally staggering 323 international games.
Pauw’s side, however, will be no pushovers. In their qualification campaign, Ireland conceded just four goals and they were unfortunate to lose their opener to the Aussies, 1-0.
Where will the Ireland Canada match be played?
The game will be played at nib Stadium in Perth, with the ground having a capacity of just over 20,000 for sporting events.
There are no major injury concerns for Ireland. Denise O’Sullivan came through the Australia game in good nick and the Irish management say Louise Quinn should be fine to start even though she flew to Perth wearing a protective boot.
There is a possibility that the only change to the starting XI could be Abbie Larkin coming in for Kyra Carusa.
