If you ever coloured your nails in with Crayola markers in primary school and pretended that you were wearing nail polish, we have some great news for you.
Crayola, yes as in the company behind that legendary yellow and green box, have just announced that they will be releasing a mini nail polish set. The set will be made up of eight pocket-sized nail polishes that mimic some of Crayola’s most famous colours (although the polishes will have an added bit of bling, naturally).
The best thing about this announcement? The nail polishes themselves will come housed in their very own crayon box. Amazing right? We’re crazy excited about it.
The crayon nail polish collection will include colours such as ‘cotton candy’ and ‘robin’s egg blue.’ And the other shades are right on trend as well.
Ah, Crayola, it brings back fond memories of our childhood (and that one time we scribbled all over the walls in the kitchen…). But this announcement has also got us thinking about other childhood brands and how they could be repackaged and sold as some kind of cosmetic product.
Ladies here are five childhood brands we wish would bring out a make-up line…
5. Polly Pocket: Back in the day, Polly Pocket was where it was at. Remember swapping Polly Pocket cases with your friends and lusting over the cases you desperately wanted? We sure do. Polly was the pocket-sized girl that we all desperately aspired to be like – seriously, if you can afford to have an actual rollercoaster in your house, you’ve clearly made it.
Imagine a Polly Pocket make-up compact that comes complete with eye shadows in all of Polly’s favourite colours (namely purples, yellows and greens). It’d be easy to transport and the colours would be oh-so-chic. Someone needs to make this right now!
4. My Little Pony: Imagine a lipstick and accompanying case that was designed like a character from the My Little Pony Range.
For example: a lipstick that paid homage to Heart Throb the pony would be pink with subtle white swirls and the case would have a mini Heart Throb on the bottom of it. Love it!
3. Lego: We’re picturing a box of make-up (eye shadow, lip-glosses and blushers) that you can completely rebuild and customise into any shape you want. Imagine the fun you’d have building and rebuilding this bad boy?
2. Play Dough: Foundation that you can roll and mould into different shapes? Awesome. Want to do a touch-up after work before you hit the pub with the girls? Break off a piece of foundation and keep it in your purse. Sorted.
1. Rainbow Brite: Rainbow Brite is famous for making our world a better place using all the colours of the rainbow. She also has a kickass means of transport (namely Starlite the flying horse).
For Rainbow Brite, we see technicolour eye shadows, lip glosses, blushers and lip sticks in all the shades of the rainbow.
