Two people have been arrested following an alleged homophobic assault on a teenager in Yorkshire.
An investigation was launched by Humberside Police in Hull yesterday after photos of the 18-year-old emerged on social media.
The images were shared on Facebook by her brother, Stevie-Leigh Ansell, and showed the woman with a bloodied face, visibly in distress.
She was taken to hospital following the incident.
A 21-year-old and a 16-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the alleged assault. Police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.
“A 21-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault on another woman in Hull,” reads a statement.
“An 18-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted between 3 and 4pm and sustained facial injuries which needed hospital treatment.
