A team of men in hazmat suits had to board a plane after a passenger made a ‘joke’ about having Ebola.
The unidentified man from North America was travelling from Philadelphia, US, to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, when he allegedly said “I have Ebola!”
He was escorted off the plane and taken to the airport’s medical centre where it was determined that he did not have the virus. According to reports, he had also been coughing during the flight.
The other passengers had to stay onboard the plane, which was kept in isolation, for two hours while the 54-year-old underwent medical checks and interviews.
