Australia will make history this year as they enter the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in the show’s 60-year history.
It has been announced this week that former Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian has been selected to represent the land Down Under in the competition.
“It’s not every day you get to perform in front of that sort of audience – 200 million,” a thrilled Sebastian said.
“I’m not sure about the song yet. That is still being worked out,” he added.
“Australians love to compete, and we wanted to find someone who we can all believe in and get behind, and Guy is the perfect artist to represent Australia and SBS on the world’s stage,” said managing director of SBS, Michael Ebeid.
