Weekend Roundup – The Ten Things Her.ie Loved This Week

Rebecca McKnight

Another Friday rolls around! Here are ten things that put a smile on our faces this week…

Plain and Purl

Rebecca is looking forward to the Knitting & Stitching Show in the RDS next week even though she’s not that good at it! In fact she’s planning to pick up a few tips so that she can actually make something that will keep her warm this winter.

Right on Time

Michelle is kind of obsessed with her new Marc Coblen watch this week. The Danish brand is new to Ireland so Michelle was among the first to get her hands on one, lucky girl. The bezel and strap can be switched out easily to create a bling or colourful alternative look, so she’s already compiling the wishlist of accessories…

Feeling sweet!

This week Úna brought in homemade red velvet cupcakes into office for the Her.ie team (Sorry JOE!). Though laden with sugar, they were still pretty tasty. Next up on her list of things to make: macaroons and cheesecake!

Saturday Style

Mollie from girl band The Saturdays has joined forces with high street fashion brand Oasis to create a super stylish collection. The line has just dropped in the Stephens Green store and Cathy, our fashion fiend, can’t wait to check it out.

Perry Good

This week, Sue is pretty much obsessed with the new Katy Perry album, especially the song Dark Horse. She hasn’t stopped singing it in the office and is essentially ensuring no one else will like the Katy Perry album.

Keano, Keano, Keano.

Sir Alex Ferguson released a book this week simply titled My Autobiography, in which he heavily criticised the Cork man and former Manchester United star, Roy Keane. The move sparked a bit of a media furore and this week Grace’s love for Roy Keane was rekindled. Grace had forgotten how much time she had for Keano and how much she missed his epic ability to tell it like it is.

Keane sharply responded to the 16-page chapter dedicated to him in the book live on ITV, saying: “I remember having conversations with the manager when I was at the club about loyalty. In my opinion he doesn’t know the meaning of the word. It doesn’t bother me too much what he has to say about me, but to constantly criticise players who bought him a lot of success I find very strange, but I won’t be losing any sleep over it.”

When Rebecca met Colin…

She has seen quite a lot of his films but this week Rebecca got to meet the one and only Colin Farrell who she described as lovely. As if that wasn’t enough she also got a photograph with the Saving Mr Banks star.

Eat Up…

We got treats from both Mr. Tayto and Rice Krispies this week. We love our jobs every day, but just a little bit more on days when we get free food.

Hello, Dolly

The best news Michelle heard all week was that Dolly Parton had announced a new tour, including three Irish dates. Tickets are on sale next week, so until then Michelle will be playing this one loudly and on repeat. She apologises in advance to the rest of the team…

Thor’s Day

Sue went along to the screening of the new Thor film, Thor: The Dark World. Despite the fact that she is in love with Chris Hemsworth, she also really enjoyed the film, especially what she described as one of the best cameos she has ever seen.
