This fizzy Aperol Spritz might be your new drink of the summer.

We're officially at that sweet time of year when the evenings are longer, the days are brighter and some signs of sunny weather are finally starting to show. And with summer approaching, one of our favourite ways to unwind at the weekend is sitting out in the sun and sipping a refreshing, fizzy cocktail. A delicious Aperol Sprtiz is the perfect drink to enjoy this summer. It's light (only 9% ABV) and refreshing, making it the perfect companion for summer BBQs, brunch or even unwinding in the evening after a busy week. And the Aperol Spritz seems to be making waves on social media too, as it's now the most Instagramed cocktail in the world!   Aperol is a bittersweet Italian liqueur that includes all the lovely tastes and flavours we associate with the perfect summer drink. Its ingredients include a delicious combination of roots and herbs for that tangy bitterness that every cocktail needs, and orange and rhubarb for some fresh sweetness. Carol Byrne recently learned how to make this delicious drink which you can follow along with in the video below, but first, here are the ingredients you'll need.

Your ingredients:

• 50ml of prossecco
• 50ml of Aperol
• Soda Water
• A slice of fresh orange
• A glass full of ice

Now that you have your ingredients in order, you're only 3 simple steps away from the perfect Aperol Sprtiz.

Step 1

Fill up a glass with ice, and add in 50ml of Prosecco.

Step 2

Add in 50ml of Aperol and top it off with some Soda Water.

Step 3

Give it a light stir, but don't overdo it - you don't want to lose that fizziness that makes an Aperol Spritz so light and refreshing! Then serve with a slice of fresh orange and enjoy!
