Jess and Sammy had it in the bag, according to the voting figures

Last night, avid fans of the reality series, Love Island, tuned in to the live finale to find out which of the four remaining couples would be crowned winners of season 10 after eight long weeks.

Jess Harding and Sammy Root were announced as winners by Maya Jama, with Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki as runners-up, followed by Ella Thomas and Tyrique Hyde in third, and Molly Marsh and Zachariah Noble in fourth.

While many fans expressed some confusion and shock around the results of the public vote, it appears that Jess and Sammy secured the win by quite a percentage.

Love Island revealed on their Threads account that the victors accounted for 34.57% of the public vote, surpassing Whitney and Lochan at 26.85%.

There were 24.21% of viewers who wanted to see Ella and Tyrique win because they have been together since day one, while 14.37% backed Molly and Zach to win the £50,000 prize.

Last night’s final in the famous Mallorca villa was the climax of a drama and love-filled summer where a total of 32 islanders passed through the doors.

Many X user, formerly known as Twitter, believed Whitney and Lochan were virtually assured of victory, with Whitney becoming a fast fan favourite.

“Whitney being the Uk favourite for 6 weeks but somehow SAMMY AND JESS WON?!!,” one user asked.

“Did the people who voted for Sammy and Jess actually watch Love Island?” another questioned.

Regardless of the vote, Love Island did what it was intended to do, as all four couples left finding love, so they’re all winners in their own right!
